Visceral Embolization: Case 2
34 year old post-partum female who presented to her gynecologist with left-sided flank pain.
Comment: This post-partum patient developed a very large left renal artery aneurysm that was at significant risk for rupture. Given the size of the aneurysm and the branch of the renal artery supplying the aneurysm, we proceeded with embolization of the feeding vessel with an Amplatzer Vascular Plug. This has ultimately led to thrombosis of the aneurysm, as evidenced on subsequent follow-up imaging with ultrasound.
