Interventional Oncology: Case 3

   

68 year old male with a solitary HCC in the left hepatic lobe who underwent staged procedures for treatment.

Comment: The early enhancing lesion in the left hepatic lobe was difficult to see with ultrasound and similarly difficult to see on a non-contrast CT scan. As a result, image-guided RF ablation would be difficult. Therefore, we first performed classic-TACE with ethiodol and then used the persistent opacification of the tumor after TACE to guide the ablation procedure.
