Abscess Drainage: Case 2

   

54 year old male who presents with fever, right upper quadrant pain, and an elevated WBC count.

Comment: This case of a liver abscess shows similar steps to case #1 during a percutaneous abscess drainage. In the third image, the markers we use for localization are evident. When these bands are laid on the skin and an image is obtained, we can use them to select an appropriate point of access for the procedure.
