SIR 2017 - A Fellow's Perspective
As an interventional radiology fellow at Albany Medical Center, I was eager to experience the annual SIR conference in Washington, DC for the first time this year. The conference did not disappoint. I was in awe of the enthusiasm and hard work put forth by the organizers and participants of the conference. I attended many of the educational sessions, all of which were very beneficial as I count down my last few months as a fellow and look forward to starting my career as an IR attending. Whether it was a session reviewing the basics of radial artery access, advanced interventions for management of portal hypertension, or a poster presentation, nearly every topic on discussed at the conference had at least some degree of application to my day-to-day practice as a fellow. In addition to the educational sessions, I found the vendor exhibits to be very interesting as many new and exciting technology and therapeutic devices were on display. I am already looking forward to SIR 2018 in LA!
